Age UK Hertfordshire are delighted to announce that on 6th April our day service at Clitheroe Health and Wellbeing Centre and our Men in Sheds and exercise groups on the 8th April, will be re-opening for clients in South Oxhey.
“It has been a very difficult and challenging year for our clients, carers, staff and volunteers.” says Mark Hanna, Interim Chief Executive, “Obviously the year has been hard for everyone, but for many of our clients coming to Clitheroe is such an important part of their life, so we are delighted to be able to re-open safely, and to be able to support clients again.”
The centre offers the chance for clients to enjoy a hot lunch, entertainment, events and quizzes, enjoy guest speakers covering a variety of topics, seated exercises and a chance to enjoy the day with their friends.
Carla Johnson, Head of Active Ageing adds that “Throughout the year we have closed and re-opened the centre in line with government advice. Alongside this staff, have continued to support all clients and their carers, delivered zoom sessions, made comfort telephone calls, created activity packs, newsletters, and when allowed, have made socially distanced visits. But nothing is better than being back together, so I’m relieved and delighted that we can re-open again and continue our vital work.”
