Age Friendly Intergenerational Event - 22nd January

On 22nd January we held our first Age Friendly Intergenerational Event, and it was a huge success!
As part of a winter celebration, we brought together Year 7 students from Thomas Alleyne Academy and our wonderful clients from Letchworth and Stevenage groups. The smiles say it all – everyone thoroughly enjoyed their time together.
From a client hilariously re-naming one of Snow White's dwarfs to "Dodgy" (Disney, take note!), to generations comparing sledging stories, to a student amazing everyone with his Rubik's Cube skills, and even an intergenerational quiz, it was a day filled with laughter, learning, and connection.

Intergenerational work not only improves mental and physical health, reduces loneliness, and upskills everyone involved, but it also helps break down negative age stereotypes. This allows students to live with a more optimistic outlook for their own futures while reducing the stereotypes often associated with younger generations. It’s a win-win for everyone!

We can’t wait to work with you again, Thomas Alleyne Academy – here’s to more moments that bring us all closer together!
