What is a meeting Centre?

A meeting centre is a local resource, operating out of ordinary community buildings, that offers on-going warm and friendly support to people with mild to moderate dementia. The meeting centre is a social club where people meet to have fun, talk to others living with a similar experience.

Purpose of the role:
Our meeting centre volunteers are there to support our sessions. This could involve activities such as, music, crafts, light exercise sessions, games and reminiscence. It may also involve assisting with refreshments throughout during the day.

• You will meet new people.
• You will be involved in a rewarding volunteering role.
• You will have the opportunity to improve your communication skills.
There will be the opportunity to take the Meeting Centre training in conjunction with the University of Worcester to attend other Age UK H&W training courses for free like Dementia Awareness training, First Aid, Food Hygiene.
• You will be helping to support people across Worcestershire with a diagnosis of dementia.
• You will be part of a close-knit team of volunteers and staff.
