Popular Age UK Herefordshire & Worcestershire Dementia Café comes to Droitwich

We are pleased to announce the launch of a new Dementia Café at Droitwich Rugby Club. The café will open its doors for the first time on 3rd September, welcoming guests from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm. As with all our Dementia Cafés, attendance is completely free.

The Droitwich Dementia Café will offer a welcoming environment where attendees can participate in a variety of engaging activities and events. Beyond the activities, the café provides a wonderful opportunity for attendees to form friendships and connect with others over a cup of tea and cake.

This new Café is generously sponsored by Better Together, a Companionship and Concierge service, whose support has made this expansion possible. Founder Alexandra Doyle has said, “Better Together will always be appreciative of the chance to help such wonderful community initiatives. Sometimes it's as easy as getting together with like-minded people to give a little something back to those who are most in need."

The primary focus is to provide support, information, and a sense of community for people living with mild to moderate dementia, as well as their carers, friends, and family members.

Often overlooked, our cafés also serve as a valuable space for carers to unwind, share experiences, and connect with others who understand the unique challenges they face.

Our Dementia Services Manager, Kelly Reeves, is delighted about the new addition, saying, “I’m very excited to announce the opening of a new dementia café in Droitwich!”

“Our dementia cafés across the county have become invaluable hubs of support, friendship, and fun, so it’s fantastic to be adding another one to make access easier for those living with dementia in the area. The Droitwich Dementia Café will be held at Droitwich Rugby Club, The Glyn Mitchell Memorial Ground, Hanbury Road, Droitwich, WR9 8PR, from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm on Tuesday, 3rd September. It will continue to run on the first Tuesday of every month at the same time. No booking is required—just drop in.
