Age UK Herefordshire & Worcestershire to launch New LGBTQIA+ Social Group in Ledbury during Pride Month

Published on 30 May 2024 07:35 AM

Age UK Herefordshire and Worcestershire (H&W) are thrilled to announce the launch of a new LGBTQIA+ Social Group in Ledbury during this year’s pride month.

Starting on Wednesday 5th June with the support of Ledbury Rugby Football Club, the group will be dedicated to creating a safe, friendly, and welcoming environment for all in the local community.

Following the success of the Gay Women’s Group in Malvern, lead volunteer Jenny shared her enthusiasm for the new initiative: “we are wanting to create a relaxed, informal, non-judgemental environment, bringing people together over a cuppa for two hours, once a month.”

“Eventually, there will be an opportunity for the group to organise activity days and places to visit, to combat loneliness and create new social opportunities.”

This social group aspires to become a cornerstone for the LGBTQIA+ community in Ledbury and its surrounding areas, offering a regular space for members to gather, share experiences, and build lasting memories. The Ledbury Rugby Club, known for its community spirit, is an ideal venue to host these monthly get-togethers.

Attendees can look forward to a relaxed and enjoyable afternoon, meeting new friends and exploring future plans for the group. Refreshments will be provided for just a £1 donation towards the rugby club, ensuring everyone feels at home from the moment they arrive.

Don't miss the chance to be part of this exciting new initiative. Mark your calendars for the first Wednesday of each month from 12pm-2pm, starting 5th June and join the LGBTQIA+ Social at the Ledbury Rugby Club.
