Time and day required: Fridays, 10am - 4pm.

Minimum Length of Commitment:  1 year.  

Report to: Activity Centre Manager

Role Overview: You will be a friendly face when people visit our Activity Centre. You will staff the reception desk, answering phone calls, responding to queries, and booking appointments. You will make people feel welcome, and ensure that everyone attending the Activity Centre signs in and out. You will be able to prioritise tasks and multitask during busy periods.

As a Reception Volunteer you will receive training on how to use our systems, book appointments, and be introduced to staff who you will work closely with.

Skills/Attributes Required:

  • Friendly, presentable and helpful
  • Organised and attentive
  • Able to multitask and juggle competing priorities
  • Good listening & communication skills
  • Able to maintain confidentiality
  • Reliable with a flexible approach

Experience Required:

  • Experience working in a reception environment and greeting visitors.
  • Experience working with older people is desired but not essential
