Craft a better future for local older people by joining in with our Big Knit Campaign

Age UK have once again teamed up with Innocent Drinks to encourage crafters to knit and crochet little hats to adorn smoothie bottles. As well as raising a smile, each behatted bottle sold raises 30p for Age UK Gloucestershire and every penny will go towards helping older people in our communities across Gloucestershire when they need us most. Join us in knitting these tiny hats and together we can make a big impact by continuing to deliver much needed advice, guidance and support.

We’ve pledged to make 5,000 hats for our campaign, meaning we’ll raise a massive £1,500. As you’ll see, our Hat-o-Meter is already registering around 1,800 hats, so we’re off to a good start! You have until 1st July 2025 to complete your hats and get them to us.

Whether you’re a knitting newbie or a seasoned pro, everyone is welcome to join in and support our campaign. There are so many designs to try, from a simple bobble hat to the trickier “Sir Hopsalot” and if you really want a challenge there’s the “Really Flashy Bird”.
