Giving Tuesday

The 3rd December is Giving Tuesday, a global day of giving.
Colder weather, seasonal infections, and higher energy costs mean winter is a more difficult time for many older people. Unfortunately, last winter turned out to be one of the most challenging yet as older people continued to grapple with the lasting consequences of the pandemic, a struggling health and social care system, a cost-of-living crisis, the impact of strikes on public services, and the circulation of flu and covid together. This winter is likely to be even tougher, with changes to the now means-tested Winter Fuel Payment eligibility, putting even more older people in a precarious financial position.
Three quarters of older people had already been turning down or turning off the heating to cope with the cost of living, and many are worried they wouldn’t be able to eat enough over the winter period.
As a local independent charity, we’re here to offer information, advice and guidance to older people in Gloucestershire but rely on the generous donations of you, our supporters to make this happen. Giving Tuesday is a global day of giving, a day that encourages people to do good.
Are you able to help us continue to support older people to access the benefits they are entitled to, provide a warm pack to help provide warmth and overcome loneliness by joining a social group?
Your generous donation will make a huge difference this winter.
Please donate today.
