Statement from Paticia Le Rolland, Age UK Gloucestershire’s Chair of Trustees:
The Board is delighted to announce that Mr Alan Inman-Ward has joined Age UK Gloucestershire as permanent CEO. Alan joins us from Active Gloucestershire, where he was Director of Insight and Operations. He has also been part of the team at Create Gloucestershire for the last three years and recently appointed as a Board Member for Gloucester City Homes. Alan's experience and knowledge of Gloucestershire and the Charity sector will enhance our organisation and his leadership will enable our talented and committed staff to continue to do their best for older people. I look forward to working with him.
Alan Inman-Ward said,
"I’m honoured to join Age UK Gloucestershire. An inspiring charity with a great team, who I can’t wait to start working with. Being in the early stages of an exciting new strategy, my experience of developing organisations away from delivery, will help us all make Gloucestershire the best county in which to grow older in.
Building on the strong relationships I have developed during my director role at Active Gloucestershire, I am looking forward to working closely with older people and our funders, partners, organisations and communities across the county. We live and work in a county with an ageing population.
Whilst it brings its challenges, I strongly believe that this is a strength we should be embracing. Seeking out ways to encourage intergenerational living and working, and utilising the benefits of the lived experience of older people, whilst reducing loneliness and isolation."
