Are you entitled to a one-off payment to contribute towards living costs?
With so many rising costs at the moment, it is hugely important that everyone who is entitled to financial support is receiving the amount they are due. There are many different kinds of financial assistance and it can feel overwhelming knowing where to start, especially if you are already finding your situation stressful.
This month we’re focusing on Pension Credit. The Government have announced that anyone who is claiming Pension Credit by Thursday 18th August 2022 will also receive an additional, one-off Cost of Living Payment of £650 to help towards living costs this year. Whilst you will still be able to apply for Pension Credit after this date, you will not qualify for this year’s additional Cost of Living Payment. Pension Credit itself can open the door to a wide range of additional support and so even after this deadline it is worth checking your eligibility.
To find out whether you are eligible:
Age UK have created an online Benefits Calculator, which will show you possible entitlements based on the information you provide. It is free to use and the details you provide are kept anonymous. Take a look today and see if you are entitled to Pension Credit or any other support!
