Day Centres

Transport - £5 Lunch- £5 If you are arranging your own transport/ food you will not have to pay this fee. While you are in the centre there will also be raffle, bingo or over activities that you don't have to take part in but come with a small charge if you do.

Please note, this service is not available outside Age UK Gateshead - Head Office's catchment area.

Age UK Gateshead day centres provide older people with both practical assistance and a chance to socialise, with support from trained staff and volunteers. Our clients enjoy a wide variety of activities which include:
• Singing and music
• Quizzes
• Gentle exercise
• Arts and crafts
• Day trips
Clients will be served a freshly prepared hot lunch and refreshments throughout the day.
A wheelchair-accessible minibus will come and pick you up from your house to take you to our day centre then drop you back at home once the day is over. Depending on where you live in the Gateshead borough will depend on what centre you go to, please call us for more information.

Alternatively if you can make your own way to any centre we encourage you to do so, this will allow you to join as soon as possible as most centres have waiting lists for a seat on the bus. You will have to tell us in advance so that we can cater for you.
