Time For You Service - Volunteers Supporting Carers To Take a Break

The service is subsidised and is provided at £5 an hour or may be free following a carer’s assessment by Devon Carers.

Please note, this service is not available outside Age UK Exeter - Head Office's catchment area.

Age UK Exeter, in partnership with Devon Carers, is delivering a small service with currently a handful of volunteers in Exeter only called Time for You.

This service is designed to give the carer a worry-free break while providing companionship for their loved one at home.

Age UK Exeter have recruited highly competent local volunteers who provide good, reliable and caring company, so that it’s a positive experience for both the carer and their partner, relative or friend.

What does 'Time for You' offer?

The service could be a regular, weekly arrangement of between 1 to 3 hours a week, or ad hoc visits. Most visits are currently weekly and of 1 hour per visit.

Carers can use the time to go shopping, attend appointments, have coffee with friends or simply enjoy some ‘me’ time with peace of mind.
