Sue Fitzhughs Eat Together for Age UK Exeter Event

Published on 02 December 2019 10:56 AM

On 16th November 2019, one of our volunteers, Sue Fitzhugh, organised an #EatTogetherExeter event at her local tennis club. She invited friends, family and the wider community to come together at a ‘street food’ themed lunch. The room was buzzing with laughter and chat. It really was a fantastic do and raised an incredible £535!

Music was provided by talented local busker, Stripey. Sue’s husband Nigel organised a raffle with a difference. Each raffle ticket was a horse in a race and ticket holders watched the races to determine a winner - a fantastic idea!

Sue prepared all the food – pulled pork wraps and falafels with plum sauce. Everything was homemade or locally sourced and Sue’s neighbour, a professional baker, kindly baked cakes, flapjacks and brownies.

Could you organise a similar event? It doesn’t have to be big – juts friends and family and some good food with donations to Age UK Exeter. Contact us if you would like more information.
