It was the Age UK Exeter Gala Dinner on Friday 19th October 2018 at the Mercure Roguement Hotel in Exeter. Everyone who attended had a wonderful time. We were entertained by Magician, Gary Jones; Jazz singer Annika Skoogh and her band; and DJ Paul Webber who were very popular with the guests.
We raised over £3000 on the evening, all of which will go to supporting older people in Exeter. This wouldn't have been possible without the generosity of companies who donated prizes for our auction and raffle. Special thanks go to:
- Ben Bradshaw
- Exeter Chiefs Rugby Club
- Exeter City Football Club
- Exeter Picturehouse
- Exeter Racecourse
- Exeter Underground Passages
- Greendale Farm Shop
- Hayes Garden World
- Heavitree Brewery
- The House of Marbles
- The Huntsman Inn, Ide

We would also like to thank our guests who made the evening the success that it was. Many local companies hosted tables including Stephens Scown, Cartridges Law, Meridian Business Support, Care Planning Associates and Pi Society.
In particular we were bowled over with the generosity of local company Not Just This Ltd, who sponsored a table for some of our volunteers, whose names were pulled out of hat. Age UK Exeter volunteers selflessly give up their time to help with the work that we do: assisting at fundraising events; befriending people with dementia; taking calls on our Careline telephone support service; visiting older people who may not see anyone else from one day to the next; helping at our day centres and much more. We wouldn’t be able to do what we do without them so it was wonderful to have this acknowledged by Not Just This Ltd.
We really hope you can come and celebrate with us in 2019. Watch this space for a ‘Save the Date’.
