We're looking to appoint two new trustees to the current Board - ideally, people who have expertise and knowledge in property, H&S, finance and/or HR.
The Board is passionate and committed to supporting the charity in it's vision to improving the live of older people by ensuring they are valued, active, connected and able to live the life they choose.
Trustees are responsible for the governance, focus and management of the charity as well as acting as ambassadors for the organisation.
Individually and collectively we have an overall stewardship responsibility for the wellbeing of Age UK Enfield, providing sound direction, ensuring that it works effectively towards its vision and mission, harnessing its resources to maximum effect and upholding its core ethos and values in accordance with its governing documents, relevant legislation and regulatory requirements.
Prospective candidates will need to:
- Have time to dedicate to this role and the support of the organisation;
- Have empathy with the charitable objectives of the organisation;
- Have the ability, commitment and drive to be part of taking the organisation forward.
We welcome hearing from candidates whose backgrounds reflect the diverse population in Enfield and to align more with the ethnic profile of the Borough we are particularly interested to hear from representatives from the South Asian, Caribbean and Turkish communities.
The Board meets four to six times a year. Trustees may also be invited to take lead on a particular project and/or to join Board committees or working groups, which may involve additional meetings. The position is unpaid but out-of-pocket expenses can be reimbursed.
