LGBT+ Re-engage

If you are gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender or otherwise a member of the LGBT+ community and over the age of 75+, you may be interested in a service offered by the charity Re-engage.

As you get older it’s not unusual to spend more time on your own, particularly if you’ve lost loved ones or your health isn’t what it used to be.

At Re-engage, they offer a free telephone befriending service specifically for LGBT+ people over the age of 75.   You will be matched with a volunteer who is also LGBT+ and receive a friendly call every week or two.   The friendly rainbow call companions love a good chat and they’re great listeners too.   What’s great is that the same volunteer phones you every time, so you can get to know each other and share stories and laughter – for as long as you both want.
