Annie's Trustee Story

I'm Annie Smol and I volunteer as a trustee for Age UK Enfield.  We are looking for more people to join our Board.  We are passionate about the older people of Enfield and run a wide range of services and activities for its many communities.   We are also keen to reflect the diverse range of communities on our Board as well as specific areas of expertise such as HR, IT, fundraising and business systems, so please do think about applying to share your skills and life experience.   

So, why am I a trustee? I work in the arts and originally asked members of the Parker Day Centre for people living with dementia to help contribute their stories for a new theatre show. I was so impressed with the dedication and commitment of the staff to improving the lives of older people that I wanted to help. I had also used Age UK Enfield myself as a carer for older parents and found this charity to be truly a life saver with a personal and caring approach when you are trying to come to terms with a diagnosis of dementia and find your way through the maze of issues and benefits for older people.
