We are delighted to announce that Ben Ingber has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of Age UK Enfield (AUKE). Ben will take up the role on 20th April.
Ben brings a wealth of experience in the voluntary and community sector. His career began in advice services before moving on to senior management roles elsewhere, including in substance misuse. His recent background has been providing consultancy services to a range of national and local charities, as well as private sector experience as Chief Operating Officer of a technology company working with statutory and voluntary agencies.
Ben is the Chair of Citizens Advice Barnet, a support volunteer with the Samaritans, and currently sits on an advisory group to the National Lottery Community Fund. He is also close to completing a Masters in Voluntary Sector Management at Cass Business School (City University).
Ben is a lifelong North London resident, including many years in Enfield, where his father still lives. Outgoing Interim CEO Gary Jones is arranging Ben’s induction and handover – including lots of internal and external meetings, and plenty of reading.
Andy Pallikarou, AUKE’s Chair, said: “We welcome Ben to our team, and thank Gary for “holding the fort”. We have great services, staff, and volunteers, and much on which to build. Ben brings some great energy and insights. He starts at a challenging time (Coronavirus) and there is much to do in both the short and longer term”.
Ben added: “It is a privilege to be joining AUKE as CEO. These are extremely difficult times for everyone, and particularly for many of the people AUKE supports. The experience and expertise of AUKE’s fantastic staff and volunteers are needed now more than ever. I look forward to being part of the team, and I’m excited about the opportunities ahead”.
