About us
We are the Borough’s leading charity supporting and enhancing the lives of older people - we're passionate in improving the lives of older people by ensuring they are valued, active, connected and able to live the life they choose.
Who we are
Age UK Enfield is the leading charity in Enfield dedicated to supporting and enriching the lives of older residents. We believe strongly in the value, independence, and engagement of older individuals, striving to help them remain connected, active, and able to live the life they choose. Our approach includes a wide variety of services and activities specifically designed to support each person’s unique needs, significantly enhancing their wellbeing and quality of life.
Each year, our passionate team of staff and volunteers reaches over 7,000 older adults in Enfield, providing essential services ranging from a dementia day care service to personalised care at home, exercise programmes, advice and practical support. These services aim to uplift, support, connect, and inspire both older individuals and their caregivers. They make a meaningful impact on their day-to-day lives by reducing loneliness, isolation and, through specific initiatives such as exercise and cognitive activities designed to help, delay the onset of dementia.
With nearly four decades of service in Enfield, we remain an independent charity within the national Age UK network, which means we are responsible for generating our own funding to sustain and grow our services.
At a time when funding is scarce, Enfield’s older population is growing and the needs of this community more complex, the services we provide are more important than ever. We are indebted to those who assist us in delivering our vision through time, expertise and funding now and look forward to continuing this mutual support into the future.
We are committed to the ongoing development of our dedicated team of employees and volunteers, investing in training and working in partnership with similar organisations to influence, educate and inspire positive change on issues affecting older communities.
