Bexhill-on-Sea Town Council presents civic awards to a range of local volunteers and charities at a special ceremony each year. The civic awards celebrate local individuals and groups who give up their time and energy to make life better for people in Bexhill.
This year one of our lovely volunteers, Graham Oliver, was nominated for his volunteer work with us here at Age UK East Sussex and the Sara Lee Trust. He was also nominated for his work with the cadets and for attending meetings with East Sussex County Council to speak out about hate crime and abuse towards people with learning disabilities.
What Bexhill Town Council said of Graham -
“Graham can often be seen around town making people smile and offering to help others out. He volunteers in charity shops and shows his support to local businesses however he can.”
We would like to say congratulations to Graham for his well-earned award and also Graham a huge thank you to you on behalf of all of us here at Age UK East Sussex for all the hard work you and support you freely give us to help us with our vision to ‘Make East Sussex a great place to grow older.’
Thank you so much Graham, you are truly an inspiration to us all!
