The vintage fair hosted by Age UK East Sussex on the 18th and 19th of May on the Metropole Lawns in Bexhill welcomed more than a thousand visitors celebrating the work Age UK does to help local older people live independently. Stall holders at the event provided food, drinks, activities and entertainment and our staff and volunteers were available to provide healthy living advice and financial assistance. Our charity shops and warehouses were also represented by a pop-up shop and fashion show.
This celebration of our 70th anniversary attracted more than 3000 visitors as well as local MP, Huw Merriman, and Mayor, Abul Azad who said: "It was an honour to open the Age UK East Sussex vintage spring fair. The celebration is for their 70 years of work and volunteers in East Sussex. The charity that is made up of just 40 dedicated staff and 190 volunteers who continually try to reach out to more people than ever before, providing services and assistance. They also spend time educating people that age should not be a social barrier. They have contributed so much to the lives of so many."
Thank you to all attendees, stall holders and volunteers for making the Spring Fair the fantastic event that it was!
