Battle celebrates the reopening of the Age UK East Sussex shop
On 4th February 2019 the Mayor of Battle, Councillor David Furness, cut the ribbon that officially launched the reopening of the Age UK East Sussex shop in Battle at 81 High Street.
Battle is the first of the Age UK East Sussex shops and has been working in the heart of the community for over 18 years. During a short closure for refurbishment it reopened on 4th February 2019. David Furness, the Mayor of Battle, Mikes Dawes, the Battle Town Crier and the local community joined the celebrations and enjoyed the new and updated shopping experience.
Simon Dalton, Age UK East Sussex Head of Retail and Trading said:
“I would like to thank the local community for their continued support and look forward to welcoming them back to our newly refurbished shop.”
The Battle shop sells a wide range of quality second hand products including clothing, bric-a-brac, jewellery, books and collectables. The shop relies on the generous donations of items made by the local community and the time given by the valuable volunteers. Donating your pre-loved items helps support our vital work with older people in the local community. To donate your good quality second-hand items please drop them in to the shop during opening times: 9.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Saturday and 10am to 4pm on Sunday. For more information please pop in to the shop, call 01273 476704 or visit ageuk.org.uk/eastsussex online.
