Volunteer Driver
To provide transport for our lunchtime food collection to and from our Day Centres at Greenford where our older people come to socialise.
What a volunteer driver does:
- Use their own vehicle to collect food for the Day Centre from Bronek’s in Northfields, Ealing to Greenford Community Centre and do the reverse journey.
- Returns the empty box to Bronek’s
- Informs Age UK immediately of any changes to his/her health or occurrences (e.g., endorsements) that affect his/her driving licence or ability to drive.
Essential
- Able to drive
- Must abide by our Driving & Use of Personal vehicles policy
- Must have a valid United Kingdom Driving Licence and aged over 18yrs
- Able to produce the relevant documentation i.e., Driving licence, Insurance for Business purposes, MOT etc.
Personal qualities most suited to this role:
- Friendly and cheerful.
- Must be extremely Reliable.
- Must have exemplary attendance
How much time is involved?
1 hour - once or twice a week (Mondays and or Thursdays). Pick up from Bronek’s at 11:30 prompt. You can stop volunteering at any time but please do let us know as soon as possible.
Expenses and Insurance:
We will cover agreed out-of-pocket expenses for volunteers (e.g., mileage costs). You will be covered by our insurance whilst doing your volunteering role with us. A Basic DBS police check certificate will be required. We can help you to obtain a free but compulsory DBS police Check.
