Fundraising Volunteer
Age UK Ealing provides care in the local community for older people to a high quality and standard, but we couldn't do that without the support of the local community, local governing bodies, volunteers, and our fundraisers. As a Fundraising Volunteer you will help Age UK Ealing to raise vital funds so that we can continue to provide services to meet the needs of our older people in the London Borough of Ealing. We are looking for friendly and enthusiastic volunteers to help boost our local fundraising.
What a fundraising volunteer does:
Being a Fundraising Volunteer is very flexible, helps develop skills and provides the opportunity to help us out as often as you feel comfortable with. We’re looking for people that are outgoing, charismatic, and confident. As a fundraiser: -
- You will be working outdoors in our community with at least 1 other volunteer together in pairs or more in different shop locations manning a stall, approaching members of the public, introducing them to Age UK Ealing’s valuable work and asking them to support this work with a donation.
- Be able to strike up a conversation with a wide range of people from a variety of backgrounds
- Raise awareness, helping to promote the services which Age UK Ealing provides
- Be trustworthy and reliable; able to handle donations & cash securely. Act and represent our charity in a professional manner
- Have a willingness and commitment to adhere to all relevant organisational policies and procedures.
Full training will be provided to all volunteers
Personal qualities most suited to this role:
- Good verbal communication & Interpersonal skills
- Honesty and reliability.
- The ability to be a team player
- Good initiative
- Understands the need for confidentiality
- A professional and friendly manner.
- Previous fundraising experience would be a bonus but not essential
- Able to drive and use of a car is desirable but not essential
How much time is involved?
An ongoing, ad-hoc role which can be tailored to fit in with your time and availability however, if possible, a minimum of 2 hrs or more per week is essential. Hours and days are flexible as agreed with your lead. You can stop volunteering at any time but please give us as much advance notice as possible should you be unable to attend or carry out your volunteering role with us anymore.
Expenses and Insurance:
We will cover agreed out-of-pocket expenses for volunteers (e.g., travel costs). We will also insure you for the time you are volunteering with us.
