Barron McCann team complete Virtual Derby 10K
The Derby 10K was scheduled to take place on Sunday 29th March but was cancelled due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The rearranged event was due to be held on 25th October but in light of the ongoing pandemic the organisers decided to hold the event as a virtual event. This meant runners could choose their own route to run their 10K between 19th and 25th October.
A team of runners from Barron McCann completed their virtual 10K in Markeaton Park on a sunny Autumnal morning. They had decided to run the event in support of Age UK Derby and Derbyshire. Barron McCann are a Derby based IT services firm who are committed to giving their support to local charities and hospitals. Their 3D printing technology enabled them to print face mask straps and visiors to be used as PPE in organisations such as St John Ambulance.
The team of runners completed four laps of Markeaton Park on a course with a few hills which became more challenging with each completed lap.
To date they have raised £475 for Age UK Derby and Derbyshire which will be put to good use supporting older people in the area.
All of us at Age UK Derby and Derbyshire would like to thank the team of runners from Barron McCann and all their sponsors for their support.
