Veterans Volunteering
Age Cymru Powys provides specialist services for Veterans living in Powys and we need ex-service personnel to sign up and volunteer to show their support.
For some Veterans, loneliness can cause real distress. And that’s where we’re asking ex-service personnel to help, as many of our Veterans would love to have someone with an Armed Forces background visit them at home for a cup of tea and a chat.
Please get in touch if you’d like to show your support for our Powys Veterans, as we can match you with a Veteran with similar interests and background for a perfect fit.
We also run the Camaraderie Club, a social telephone group for Veterans in Powys aged 50+ to connect in group without even having to leave the house. We're looking for people to join in just for a chat or to help run the group.
Your military service has equipped you with exceptional unique skills and experiences that can continue to benefit others. By volunteering with Age Cymru Powys, you can help ensure that no Veteran in Powys feels alone. Together, we can build a supportive community where every Veteran feels valued and connected.
Our volunteering opportunities are flexible to suit you, from as little commitment as 30 mins per month to an hour each week.
We offer ongoing support, quick and easy flexible training, paid expenses and lots of fun!
Who is a ‘Veteran’ in the UK? Anyone who has served for at least one day in Her Majesty’s Armed Forces (Regular or Reserve) or Merchant Mariners who have seen duty on legally defined military operations.
