Care home volunteering evaluation
Through Age Cymru’s previous care home volunteering pilots we know that volunteering has a positive impact on care home resident wellbeing, as well as staff, relatives and volunteers.
From July 2023 until March 2024, we continued with recruitment, training and matching of volunteers with care homes; and our artists practitioners supported care homes with the induction of volunteers and coached them in the Tell Me More Approach.
Alongside this we evaluated the impact of volunteering on the wellbeing of residents, staff and volunteers, and looked to understand what is needed to make volunteering sustainable.
