This is Older: new photography exhibition celebrates the diverse lives of older people

From a punk-rocker to a mountain-sheep-farmer and wild swimmers to allotment keepers — we're delighted to launch a thought-provoking photography exhibition which aims to break down negative stereotypes of older people. Launched on The United Nations International Day of the Older Person.

Led by Age Cymru in collaboration with acclaimed photographer Jon Pountney, the This is Older exhibition goes on show at The National Library for Wales in Aberystwyth until 10 December 2021, as well as featuring in a permanent digital library.

Celebrating the diversity and vivacity of older people, twelve models from across Wales, aged 65 to 85, tell their remarkable stories through the compelling photo series. Whether it’s documenting someone’s newly acquired skills or biggest passion, the photos captures the joy and vigour to be found in later life.

The exhibition is being shown at the Gregynog Gallery, the National Library for Wales, Aberystwyth until 10 December 2021.
