Together we are not alone

Christmas is a time for togetherness, but sadly older people feel more isolated at Christmas than any other time of year.

This year, we want to change that for as many older people as we can. That’s why we’re calling on everyone to come together and support Age Cymru Dyfed so we can give comfort, friendship and joy to older people who need it most. For thousands of older people who are feeling lonely, forgotten or who have no one else to turn to for help, Age Cymru Dyfed is a lifeline.

  • Through our advice services, information and support helps tackle loneliness and helps people access unrealised benefits.
  • Through our befriending, we connect lonely older people with social groups, offer a listening ear, and provide a friendly voice.
  • Through our digital project, we train people in digital shopping and banking to support independent living.
  • Through our veterans' service, we support the needs of older veterans and preserve their stories for future generations.
  • Through our Dementia Wellbeing Connector service, we connect people to support they need.
  • Through our Connecting Carmarthenshire service, we build resilience for people over 50 and adults with physical disabilities.
  • Through our award-winning Byw Adref service, we provide much needed help in the home.

But we can’t do this alone.

Age Cymru Dyfed needs your donations to bring real change for lonely older people at a time when they may otherwise feel forgotten.

No older person should ever feel alone and isolated, particularly over Christmas. Your support has the power to change this.

Every donation, no matter the size, can help the Age Cymru Dyfed provides the human connection that too many older people live without.

Together, we can help change the lives of older people who are feeling lonely.

Together we are stronger. Together, we’re not alone.

Together, we can help change the lives of lonely older people

Help Dyfed love later life! Donate today and help Age Cymru Dyfed bring lonely older people comfort, friendship and joy and help them live in their homes independently for longer.

This Christmas, you can help someone like Elizabeth

Like so many older people in our communities, Elizabeth had been struggling to pay her energy bills and was feeling isolated since the loss of her husband 15 months earlier and was on a downward spiral. Having also recently lost her beloved Labrador and with no family close by, Elizabeth struggled, hoping for light at the end of the tunnel.

Elizabeth gained information and advice, to help her claim benefits she was previously unaware of. We supported her to make better use of her Smartphone and loaned her a tablet to video call family overseas.

We gave her advice on saving energy and put her in touch with local organisations for support. Elizabeth, with our help attended social groups and activities. When Elizabeth needed us the most, we were there for her.

“Knowing Age Cymru Dyfed cared was life-changing.”
