Christmas is a time for togetherness, but sadly older people feel more isolated at Christmas than any other time of year. For thousands of older people who are feeling lonely, forgotten or who have no one else to turn to for help in West Wales, Age Cymru Dyfed is a lifeline.

Yonder conducted an online and telephone survey on behalf of our partner Age UK. A total sample of 2,755 UK adults aged 65+ were surveyed between 2 and 29 October 2024. Responses were weighted to be representative of the population of the UK.

From that sample, Age Cymru surveyed 160 Welsh adults aged 65+. All statistics are drawn from this polling unless otherwise stated. Targets for quotas and weights are taken from the latest ONS Census data (2021/22) and the PAMCO survey, a random probability F2F survey conducted annually with 35,000 adults.
