Charity shops
Looking to bag a bargain, declutter your life, or volunteer? You can do all three at one of our charity shops.
About our Shops
Quality counts first and foremost at Age UK shops.
Our shops are incredibly well-stocked with a variety of goods and are very popular with bargain hunters! We sell a wide range of new and second-hand goods including:
- Clothes
- CDs
- DVDs
- Books
- Linen
- Jewellery
- Calendars
- Bric-a-brac
The funds raised from our charity shops go to Age UK, the national body and our brand partner.
Donating Stock
We accept a wide variety of items, including clothes, mobile phones, computers, homeware, soft furnishings, CDs, DVDs, books, toys and games.
Some items can only be accepted by some of our Age UK shops, such as electrical equipment and good quality furniture.
A few things we cannot accept:
- Broken, incomplete or unsafe items (such as toys, glassware, ornaments, and china)
- Safety equipment (including helmets, children car seats, and safety gates)
- Medical equipment
- Videotapes and cassettes
- Real fur
- Coat hangers
- Quilts, duvets, large bulky curtains, cushions and pillows
If you're unsure whether your items will be accepted by your local Age UK shop, then we recommend you call the shop before donating. If you require further information, please call us on 0800 169 8787.
Volunteering at our Shops
Our shops rely on volunteers for sorting stock, creating interesting window displays, and attending to customers. If you are interested in volunteering with us, please get in touch with your local shop, rather than Age UK Croydon.
