MercyWorldWide Group Volunteering Day

MERCYWORLDWIDE is a faith-based international humanitarian organisation and offer group volunteering as part of their yearly 'Day of Mercy’. This year the South London group got in touch with Age UK Croydon, and kindly offered to clear and clean for us. We had just the space in mind - a storage area next to our garden which was in need of clearing, and which we hope to make use of once it has been emptied and assessed.
Jamie Gordine of MercyWorldWide organised a team of twelve who volunteered in two shifts on a hot Saturday in June, and they did an amazing job of emptying, tidying, and organising the space and it's contents; they have continued to help remove what remains, and we hope to donate as much as possible to other charities.
Jamie said "I am so glad we have initiated contact and were able to serve, and in some small way contribute to helping the elderly in our region. We would be very keen to develop a partnering relationship in future, as we have a bank of over 200 like-minded volunteers across London".
Age UK Croydon have some ideas for how the space will be used, and will keep Jamie and his team of volunteers informed, so watch this space!
