Supporting older people to get connected!

As part of our Digital Inclusion efforts, which involves supporting older people in Croydon to get online and connected with their loved ones, we were able to deliver repurposed laptops to two of our befriending clients.
Jo Dunbar, Communications Manager at Age UK Croydon set off to deliver the laptops (socially distanced, of course!) to two happy clients who will be supported by their volunteer befrienders. The laptops were given a new lease of life thanks to our friends at TechResort, an Eastbourne based company dedicated to giving everyone the digital skills and access they need to thrive.
The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the importance of being digitally accessible for our clients, especially as many older people are having to isolate or shield. Having these laptops enables our clients to not only connect with their families and friends, but to access several our online events and virtual groups.
