Medal of Excellence for Financial Advocate

Brian Calvert, Age UK Croydon's Financial Advocate, has been awarded the City and Guilds Medal for Excellence, which was awarded for his work on the Advocacy Diploma. Biran is one of five people to receive the award in the field of Social Care in 2017; only 400 Medals of Excellence are awarded worldwide each year. The medal is awarded to those learners who have achieved great results by producing exceptional work that goes beyond whati s expected to complete their course.
The award was presented by Katie Smith-Palomeque, Director and Lead Advocate, IAQ Training Centre Coordinator (Libra Partnership Ltd), seen here on the left of Brian Calvert (centre), and Kate Pierpoint, acting CEO of Age UK Croydon (right).
Age UK Croydon has provided an advocacy service to residents of the borough for more than 15 years. Brain himself has been working as an Age UK Croydon Financial Advocate since 2010.
