Empowering movement safely

Mental Health Awareness Week, empowering movement safely. Stay Active at Any Age and Ability. Whether you've been active your whole life or you’re just getting started, there's something for everyone when it comes to movement.
For those looking to ease into movement, consider trying gentle activities like tai chi, water aerobics, or seated exercises. These options are a great way to get your muscles moving without putting too much stress on your joints.
If you have mobility concerns or have a chronic health condition that affects your abilities, safety is key! Remember to listen to your body, start slowly, and never push yourself beyond your limits. Warm up, stay hydrated, and use any necessary mobility aids or supports to ensure safe and enjoyable movement.
If you're looking for a little extra support or find that your physical health is negatively impacting your wellbeing, our physiotherapy service is here for you. Physiotherapy can help to build strength and mobility, increase your confidence with movement and offer guidance on developing safe routines. If you’re interested in an assessment contact Jodie at 0191 374 6569 or send an enquiry to wellbeing@ageukcountydurham.org.uk
Let's keep prioritising our physical and mental wellbeing through movement. Whether it's a gentle stretch or a full-on fell walk, keep moving and feel the positive impact. You've got this!
