Patient Transport Statement | 29th May 2024

Published on 29 May 2024 01:45 PM

Age UK Cornwall and Isles of Scilly are pleased to be able to support HTG-UK and RCH (Royal Cornwall Hospital) in their transition to a new transport service for renal patients in Cornwall.

Clarifying the communication provided by the service commissioners in March, Age UK Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly will not be working in partnership with the new provider but will be working with all parties for several extra months, as the new system is introduced and helping support individuals to receive the transport they need.

Age UK Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly has chosen to run this service extension reflecting its charitable purpose and commitment to its beneficiaries. Moving forward, we will be focussing on non-emergency transport for anyone unable to access their own transport and working with our partners at Volunteer Cornwall to help develop local community-based transport solutions.
