Christmas Carvery at ‘The Windy Ridge Eating House, Trerulefoot, Nr. Saltash‘
A star shone over Age UK Cornwall on the 20th December 2023, when 3 wise men from the East were replaced by 2 very caring charity supporting wise men from the ‘East of Cornwall’.
Rob and Rod are the co-owners of ‘The Windy Ridge’ and they contacted Nicki Kilbey, our Community Wellbeing Coach Lead, offering a free ‘Christmas Carvery’ to our Community Wellbeing clients.
Although this was short notice, and demand for transport services is always high, Nicki was very keen to make this wonderful outing work for our clients. With the help of her two coaches in the East, they encouraged a number of clients to come along to enjoy the Christmas Carvery.
The event was a huge success for the team, and all the clients really enjoyed the wonderful opportunity of getting together to improve their wellbeing, supported by Nicki, Hazel & Jo (Community Wellbeing Coaches) and Roy our Community Wellbeing Volunteer.
The added bonus for our charity is that both Rob & Rod have offered to give much more support to Age UK Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly - they are keen to explore ideas with Nicki in the New Year - the spirit of Christmas lives on with these two committed charity minded restaurant co-owners and we thank them for all their support in providing a very special festive event.
