Volunteer Cornwall has recently launched a Stroke Befriending Service where Volunteer befrienders support others who have a had a stroke.
Stroke Befrienders can share experiences and offer encouragement to stroke patients who are in a hospital, at home or in a care home. They can also offer telephone, email or video call befriending. This can have an incredible impact on the person they are supporting, building their confidence, reducing isolation and helping them to get involved in their community.
