With more services moving online, Age UK City of London are here to help you get online and help with any questions you have about technology.

See below for our list of ways we can help you get online and recieve the tech support that you need

Barbican and Portsoken Drop-ins

Now and again, everyone needs a little bit of help with their tech. We offer a free drop-in IT support service at Barbican Library, every Tuesday evening 5.30pm - 7pm.

Whether you’re confused about updates, anxious about scams or want to know how to get the best out of your battery, our expert volunteers can help. Simply ask for us at the front desk when you come in.

Bring your phone, laptop or tablet along and don’t forget to charge it before you come. Complete beginners welcome. At busy times you may need to wait to be seen. Tea, coffee and biscuits are available.

We also run a drop-in session on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month, 2-4pm at Portsoken Community Centre. Just come along to get help, advice and tips from Nik, our Digital Support worker. No need to book. Complete beginners welcome.

One-to-One Support

We now provide one-to-one support in the square mile to help you with any tech issues that you may be experiencing. This can range from choosing a device to best suit your needs, setting up a new device, learning how to download apps or getting wifi in your home.

Appointments are with Nik, our Digital Support worker, and are held at Tudor Rose Court, Fann Street on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month. Appointments can be made by leaving a message for Nik on 07977 997 436, or by emailing digitalinclusion@cityoflondon.org.uk

If you would be unable to attend an appointment at Tudor Rose Court, for eg due to mobility issues, you can book a home visit with Ciaran, please call 07816 407 804 or email digitalinclusion@ageukcityoflondon.org.uk

Going online for the first time

Not sure if the internet is for you? If you’re a complete beginner and want to find out a bit more about it, you can borrow a reconditioned laptop or tablet for up to 3 months while you try it out. (City residents aged 60 and over only).

If you’ve got your own device but are not sure how to get started, you can get in touch with our team or come along to our Barbican library drop-in sessions.

Digital Guides

We have developed a series of digital support guides in an easy to understand, step-by-step manual which you can download on your computer or print at home.

Gadget Clinics

We host Gadget Clinics on a regular basis with a team of trained volunteers who can support you with any aspect of technology you need help with.
