Summer trip to the Lavender Fields

On a rainy day in July, a large group of nearly 40 older residents braved the weather to visit the Kent lavender fields. Rained lashed the coach windscreen as we drove down the A2, but just as we pulled up at Castle Farm near Shoreham, the skies cleared and we enjoyed a superb day exploring the farm, inhaling the scent of the lavender and buying lots of products – including lavender gin - in the farm shop.
