Our free information and advice service is available to anyone aged 50+, their families and friends, professionals and carers.

The service keeps accurate and up-to-date information on a wide range of issues such as housing, health and care, money matters, leisure and social activities and most other things that can affect your quality of life.

We can help with completing forms or taking action on your behalf with organisations with which you have a problem or you can access our free and confidential counselling sessions.

Anything you discuss with us is treated in the strictest confidence whether it is over the phone, in person at our advice centre, at a community venue or during a home visit.

We have a team of expert advisers and volunteers who will give you information that is accurate and up to date. If we can’t help, we’ll point you in the direction of someone who can.

Benefits

Now more than ever, you need to be aware of the financial help and support that is available and that you may be entitled to receive.

Our Benefits Information Surgery has helped thousands of older people and their families to claim additional benefits that they were unaware of previously. Our advisers will assess your financial situation and offer support so that you can live independently in your own home for longer.

You could be missing out on additional income or paying more than you should for services so call now and book an appointment today.

Please note that benefit advice is only available to people who are of state pension age.

What does it cost?

This service is free, however, as 90% of the benefit claims we make on behalf of older people are successful, we welcome donations.

Counselling

Counselling allows you to take time out each week and talk to a trained listener in confidence about feelings or problems that you find difficult to discuss with a friend or relative.

Our counsellors are in the latter part of their training and donate their time and skills to helping people just like you. They will not judge you or tell you what to do but simply listen and help you explore your feelings in a safe place. It may help you to put things in to perspective or to come to terms with difficult emotions, decisions or issues.

The number of sessions you have depends on how long you need so book an appointment now and you could be on your way to feeling better sooner than you think.

When and where to get the help you need

Our Counsellor is currently available every Wednesday and delivers the one-to-one sessions face-to-face. If you would like to book a session with our counsellor, please make an appointment by calling us on 01625 612958 or by email to enquiries@ageukce.org
