Coronavirus Renewal Appeal 2020

Like so many charities, Age UK Camden has seen a sudden and significant drop in income due to the Coronavirus pandemic and the subsequent closure of our shop, day centres and postponed spring and summer fundraising events.

Age UK Camden is at the forefront of supporting older people in the London Borough of Camden. As an independent charity, responsible for raising our own funds, your continued support and donations during these difficult times are critical in helping us support the most vulnerable. All our staff and volunteers are working hard during these challenging times to alleviate the impact of Coronavirus on older people in Camden, who undoubtedly are living in fear.

Our two Hubs have been transformed into operations providing thousands of emergency food parcels and our teams are providing vital telephone support for Camdens older generation, many of whom are in isolation. Demand for our services and support has never been higher.

We have now launched a new, essential service, providing convalescence support for those returning home from hospital. Many people are now recovering from Coronavirus at home, but their journey to full health may take some time. Older people in particular need robust support during this period and that is where our Convalescence at Home package comes in. It offers services including internet shopping support, information and advice hotline, telephone befriending, counselling and wellbeing activities such as an online book club.

We have been overwhelmed by the generosity of our local community and we need your support now more than ever. As one of one of our older clients who received one of our emergency food parcels said
