AUC events kick off the summer

We’ve been busy celebrating the start of summer over the past few weeks –despite the rain! Here are some pictures from our recent events.
Community Garden Party
The weather held out this week for a successful Community Garden Party at Great Croft. More than 60 people came along to enjoy BBQ food, a raffle, and sets from fantastic professional musicians. It was great to hear that many of you got the chance to connect with people you wouldn’t have met otherwise. Thank you to our neighbours – some residents of the Great Croft flats listened to the music from their balconies – and to volunteers from the Alan Turing Institute for helping us put on this fabulous community day.
Volunteer Awards
We recognised the contributions of our incredible volunteers with an awards ceremony last week. The Deputy Mayor of Camden and Kate Hepburn, daughter of the late AUC founder Margaret Hepburn, presented awards to the people who gave their time and expertise to helps us deliver the high quality services that so many older people in Camden rely on. Many thanks to Barefoot Wine and One Housing for supporting the evening.
Henderson Court Roaring 20s Tea Dance
At the end of May we worked with The American School in London to throw a Roaring 20s Tea Dance at Henderson Court. There was dancing, costumes and food and the centre was decked out to suit the theme. ASL pupils from raised more than £1100 for Age UK Camden! Huge thanks to them for their impressive planning and fundraising efforts.
