Age UK Cambridgeshire and Peterborough is an independent charitable organisation which exists to improve the quality of life for older people in the county.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join us as Team Assistant within the Handyperson Service. The aim is to improve an older or disabled person’s home environment with early intervention support, to enable them to remain living at home safely and independently. The team conduct a home safety check to highlight any environmental risk factors within the home and undertake practical tasks such as fitting grab rails, installing key-safes, as well as DIY jobs in and around the home.
About
The role of Team Assistant is to provide administrative support to the Handyperson team, including processing new referrals online and assigning the booking of the jobs.Being the first point of contact for all referrals, the role involves conducting a thorough well being telephone assessment to identify the individual’s needs.We are looking for a team player with excellent communication skills (verbal and written). You must have an understanding of Microsoft Office and be keen to learn new IT systems. Attention to detail is paramount, as well as an empathetic and professional manner. A good sense of humour is always needed!
- 20 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
- This post will be based at our Head Office address.
- £12,698 pa

The successful candidate will be required to undertake Disclosure and Barring Service check at BASIC level.
