Volunteer Fair

We were pleased to take part in an on-line Volunteer Fair organised by Cambridge Council for Voluntary Services last month (February). We were one of 9 other local charities who were given a five-minute slot to share our work and promote our need for volunteers with people who had signed up to the online fair.

Our presentation focused on how volunteers can significantly reduce feelings of isolation and loneliness by becoming a befriender with our Sharing Time and Telephone Befriending services.

In the video a service user talks about the importance of Sharing Time to her quality of life, a volunteer shares the satisfaction she gains from volunteering and there is a clip from a radio interview with our Team Leader, Carol, speaking about the operation of the service.
