They use movitational techniques and positive lifestyle changes to help you:
- Identify your health needs
- Recognise the triggers that set off your condition
- Care for yourself better and achieve your goals
- Make changes to your life to make you healthier and happier
- Help identify barriers that might prevent you from making healthier choices and look at ways to overcome them by listening, empathising and sharing information
They are also offering a free 6 week course for unpaid carers called "looking after me". It seeks to equip adults who care for someone who is frail, has a disability or a longterm health condition, with the skills to look after themselves.
This course help with lots of the problems faced by cares. The "looking after me" course includes:
- Relaxation techniques
- Coping with difficult emotions
- Managing depression
- Action planning
- Planning for the future
- Communication skills
- Problem solving
- Healthy eating
