How does our BOOST project work?
Our BOOST project helps you understand what social options are available to you and offer you short term support to try them out. It’s perfect for older people wanting to reconnect with their local community, especially if you are feeling isolated and lonely. Please note, this service is available in Buckinghamshire only. This does not include Milton Keynes.
Aims of this service
BOOST is here to support older people to make new connections in their local community that will provide a sustainable social network. Each person is unique and we work with individual interests, hobbies and hopes. We provide short term support tailored to you – from understanding what options are available and making a couple of calls, to providing a volunteer to support you to try things out. The choice is yours!
• To reduce isolation and loneliness by supporting you to identify and try out interests and activities you enjoy
• To improve confidence and self-esteem
• To support you to build up your networks so you have options after our support finishes
• To build our contacts with local community groups and resources, so that we can develop and maintain a bespoke resource base of activities to benefit users of the service.
