Age UK Buckinghamshire is a company limited by guarantee, governed by a Board of Trustees. 

The trustees are responsible for overseeing the affairs of the charity in accordance with its charitable objectives and to ensure continuing compliance with charity and company law.

The trustees meet on a regular basis and they have a wide range of experience and skills. The committee has overall legal responsibility for the work and finances of the organisation, employs the staff who manage the volunteers.

Meet our wonderful Board of Trustees!

Sam Russell  Abiola Yusuf  Annie Horgan-Smith Rebekah Coleman Ashley Bailey Caroline Ing  Siobhan Gregory 

Sam Russell is Chair of the Board of Trustees. He has over fifteen years of experience as a Trustee in the Education Sector, including nine years as Chair of Trustees at a successful Multi Academy Trust in Hertfordshire. Sam is also a Family Court Magistrate in Bedfordshire. In his professional career, Sam has worked in Local Government, including in Social Care and Children’s Services. He is currently a senior Customer Experience manager in the rail industry, and has previously led Public Affairs and community engagement activity. 

Abiola Yusuf is a finance professional with wealth of experience working in the nonprofit sector. As  a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, she has held senior finance positions in large, small and medium sized organisations. She is currently the Finance Director of Milton Keynes Development Partnership prior to which she was the Director of Finance, ICT and Property at Abbeyfield Society , Nightingale Hammerson and Norwood (all 3 organisations responsible for providing care, housing and or support to the elderly). As well as being a Board member of Age UK Buckinghamshire and a member of its Finance Committee,  Abiola provides exective consultancy to Auckland Homes Solution and have sat on the Board of Avenues Group and Christian Action Housing Association.  She also enjoys volunteering to lead a Sunday class comprising kids in school years 3 and 6 and also enjoys spending time with family and friends.

Annie Horgan-Smith is currently a Director for Workshop 305, a social enterprise in South West London which provides a range of specialist arts and crafts workshops for adults with learning and physical disabilities and associated complex needs. Previously she held senior marketing roles for a number of global brands and has particular experience in Sports Marketing having worked on the FIFA World Cup and UEFA Champions League tournaments for over 10 years. She previously worked for The Walt Disney Company in a Pan-European role. Annie moved to South Bucks in 2015 where she lives with her husband and son. She was previously a Hillingdon resident and was a Trustee for Age UK Hillingdon, Harrow and Brent for six years and was latterly Vice-Chair. 

Rebekah Coleman is a qualified solicitor and ethics and corporate compliance professional. She spent many years building and sustaining the Ethics & Compliance programme at a FTSE 100 global science and technology company and is currently the Group Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer at a UK Non-Departmental Public Body. Rebekah also sat as a Trustee Director of her employer's pension scheme for 4 years. When not working, Rebekah spends most of her time running around after her two boys.  

Ashley Bailey has been Chief Financial and Operations Officer at Coeliac UK since January 2024, having previously served as  Director of Finance and Operations at Brain Tumour Research for over 9 years. A highly competent and experienced senior executive, with a career previously spanning over 25 years in the corporate sector, including posts as Managing Director and Country President at Loomis and CFO for DHL Freight in the UK and Ireland, Ashley Bailey is a qualified accountant (Associate of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) and has also run his own business consultancy advising clients on how to optimise their financial and operational performance. A local resident, Ashley is motivated to improve the lives the others and reduce inequity in society. 

Caroline Ing is recently retired having spent several years as a highly experienced IT Senior Account Executive at Capgemini, a leading digital transformation company. Having graduated from Glasgow University with an M.A. in English Literature and Psychology she has gained over 30 years’ experience in client account management roles including manufacturing energy & utilities, and most recently 6 years in the UK Secure Defence sector. Caroline is a strong advocate in promoting Diversity in IT and encouraging young people into STEM careers. She was an active participant in Capgemini’s Social Responsibility activities, team mentoring and schools programmes and is also proud to be a member of Women In Defence. In her spare time Caroline enjoys spending time with her husband, two grown-up daughters, family and friends. She has plenty of opportunity for exercise with her two Yorkshire terriers, especially walks in the countryside of Buckinghamshire – and further afield. She is a keen charity supporter and recent personal family experiences have introduced her to the challenges of elderly life, driving her interest in Age UK. 

Siobhan Gregory is a registered nurse and has worked for the NHS for over 37 years. She has worked across acute and community care. As Chief Nurse in a community Trust Siobhan developed new roles working with staff, patients and carers to enable people living with dementia and their carers to remain within their own homes for as long as possible. Siobhan is an advocate for care closer to home. Siobhan now works part time as Clinical Quality Director for NHS England London where she works as a strategic leader supporting the newly forming healthcare landscape to develop safe , effective care. She is also the acute work stream lead for the dementia clinical network for London. Siobhan is also a visiting professor at Bucks New University. 

Outside of work Siobhan, her husband and 2 adult children love holidays, the outdoor life and supporting the local community. Siobhan and her husband have both been actively involved in High Wycombe Rugby Club where their son has played rugby since he was 5 years old. They have two rescue dogs - Dave and Copper who keep them very busy.  She is also a Trustee  for Stokenchurch Dog rescue and sits on a clinical advisory panel for the Cavell Trust.  Siobhan is also Honorary Colonel with the British army- Multi Role Medical regiment ( MMR) 256.

Many of us have supported and helped our parents as they get older; we know from first hand experience the level of expert help that can be needed. It can be comforting to know that the support of organisations such as Age UK Buckinghamshire is there when we need it.
