Open for Business - CEOs' Joint Response

Published on 13 September 2024 06:32 AM

A joint statement from the CEOs of Age UK BRWF & Age UK WM&HL in response to the closure of Age UK Herefordshire & Worcestershire

Amanda Allen, CEO of Age UK Bromsgrove, Redditch and Wyre Forest and Clare Thomas, CEO of Age UK Worcester, Malvern Hills and Hereford Localities wish to emphasise that both charities are very much open for business.

"We are extremely saddened by the announcement that Age UK Herefordshire & Worcestershire will be closing at the end of this month and are working hard with the staff there to ensure that those affected are supported to access alternative services.

These are challenging times, with increasing demand on our services as our ageing communities reach out to us for support. We will be working closely with our stakeholders, funders, staff and other organisations working in our communities to take on extra capacity where possible.

We ask for your patience and understanding during this time, along with your ongoing support, and be reassured that older people remain our priority”

We have been advised that any media questions regarding the closure of Age UK Herefordshire & Worcestershire should be directed to media@ageuk.org.uk
