Find out about Help & Support Available this Winter

Last week the national Age UK team published its latest analysis which reported that 75% of pensioners in the West Midlands living in poverty or just above the poverty line will no longer receive Winter Fuel Payments.

With pressure continuing to be being placed upon the Government to take action in the Budget to avert a potential disaster for many pensioners this winter following its decision to restrict the Winter Fuel Payment, we wanted to ensure that members of the North Worcestershire Community are aware of the following:

Household Support Fund Vouchers

• As part of the Government's Household Support Fund we are currently working with Worcestershire County Council to distribute vouchers (from £75 to a maximum of £225) to eligible pensioners living in Bromsgrove, Redditch & Wyre Forest

Free Home Energy Checks

• We still have appointments available for our Free Home Energy Checks, offering help and support to make your home more energy efficient so you can stay warm in the winter.

Age UK Benefits Calculator

• Our Information & Advice Team continue to offer help and support but, if you can get online, Age UK's Benefits Calculator can help you find out which benefits (including Pension Credit) you could be entitled to. It's free and simple to use and the details you provide are kept anonymous. You can access the calculator via this link
